Ayurvedic massage therapy is very effective in optimising the cleansing process. The following two therapies are most beneficial to Spring Cleaning both mind and body:

Pinda Sweda (Swedana):
This therapy consists of massaging warm boluses (prepared with herbs, rice, oil and other grains) over your entire body using specific strokes. It improves blood circulation and muscle tone, strengthens digestion and restores vigour to all your bodily tissues. Pinda Sweda is beneficial in helping the body rebuild muscle tissues.  It promotes vitality and longevity.
 Udvartana

This therapy fosters the stimulation of energy flow and improves the supply and purification of tissue, activates the metabolism of the skin and the cells, as well as stimulates blood circulation and lymph flow.

Furthermore, the therapeutic herbal powders have a tightening effect on the skin.  The resulting warmth and movement aids against cellulite.

At the same time this treatment is a body peel, purifying and regenerating on the skin, so that the overall dermal picture becomes notably refined.

The above two therapies include specific advice on your dosha (body type). Knowing your dosha will help you select the optimum foods, exercises and lifestyle choices that will support and nurture your health.
